Wake Landscapes Lawn Services

Top 20: Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to provide efficient, high-quality lawn service in Holly Springs and Fuquay Varina, NC.  Every lawn company is unique in the services they offer, and the ways they operate.  Here is a list of frequently asked questions to help you familiarize yourself with the way we operate.

Does someone need to be home for you to service our lawn?

No.  We do not require anyone to be home for us to service your lawn.

What is your preferred method of contact if we have any questions or concerns?

Text or email is recommended.

Can we stand outside and observe your team service our yard?

No.  For liability and safety reasons we cannot have anyone (including pets) in the yard while we are servicing a property.

When are payments due?

We charge a credit card on file at the end of each month for our lawn maintenance accounts.  For other services, such as aeration or mulch, payment is due at the time of service.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash/check/Zelle/Venmo.  For recurring lawn maintenance, we require a credit card on file.

Do you require deposits?

The only time a deposit is required is for mulch/pine straw installations.  A 50% deposit secures a place on the schedule and helps cover the cost of materials.  The remaining payment is due when service is completed.

Will you pick up items scattered throughout the yard when you arrive for service?

No.  Please prepare for your scheduled visit by: Removing all pet waste.  Removing all hoses, electrical cords, lawn furniture, toys, holiday decorations, lights, badminton nets, and any other obstacles that can get run over and destroyed.  We do not reorganize items in the lawn, including trampolines or play sets.  We avoid all obstacles and are not liable for any such damage.

What services do you offer?

We specialize in lawn maintenance (recurring mowing), aeration, fertilization and weed control, hedge trimming, mulch and pine straw.  As a small local company, we are experts in a few core services rather than trying to be a jack-of-all trades.

What services do you NOT offer?

We do NOT offer tree service, gutter cleaning, landscape design, planting, hardscaping (patios, sidewalks), landscape lighting, irrigation, topdressing, etc.

What is your make up policy?

In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, all scheduled work will be made up the next available day.  We are not open on Sunday or federal holidays.

Do you charge extra to clean up storm debris?

Yes.  Debris removal is not included with lawn maintenance.   We can use customer-provided containers to dispose of the debris or charge an additional fee to haul offsite.

What if the gate to the backyard is locked?

If we arrive for a scheduled service and cannot access the backyard, we will have to skip the backyard and only service the front.  However, we must charge for a full visit due to the additional time it will take to complete the following week (taller grass, more leaves/debris, additional edging, etc.)

What is your policy with dog poop?

For everyone’s health and safety, all pet waste must be removed from the yard before we arrive for scheduled services.  If necessary, we recommend hiring a pet waste removal service.

Do you offer one-time mowing/lawn maintenance services?

No. Our approach to caring for a lawn is based on providing preventative lawn maintenance and developing long term relationships with our clients.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No, we do not require contracts. However, we provide annual service agreements during our estimation process so our customers get a better understanding of the services we provide throughout the year.

What services do you offer during the winter months?

In the winter months, while mowing may not be as necessary, we scale back our service frequency to 1-2x/month and keep the yard maintained by:

  • Removing leaves, sticks, and debris
  • Redefining bed edges
  • Pruning shrubs and trees/crepe myrtles to eliminate hanging limbs or from touching structures
  • Treating the lawn with fertilizer or lime
  • Spraying weeds that have emerged
